This New Year’s Eve, your favourite rock’n’roll lounge-bar hideout will be open, free (food and booze not included—obviously), and cranking party tunes till late. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink on your party crawl or settling in for the long haul (yes, you can hog a lounge suite for your mates), the house-party vibes will be in full swing at Altar Bar.

We fully expect someone to rearrange the furniture to create a dance floor, set off some poppers we love cleaning up… and ring in the New Year in style. All our favourites will be spinning us into 2026—expect old-school rock, indie heaters, new wave, punk, disco, pop, soul… anything and everything that doesn’t suck.

May or may not include: cabana, Twiggy sticks, cubed cheese, chip bowls; streamers and balloons; tears; a young couple being way too horny on a lounge; break-ups, fresh hook-ups, and someone’s spew in a pot plant (that one’s basically guaranteed).
